The mosaic of Basilica of Arapajt

This mosaic belongs to the Palo Christian period and was discovered by the archeology researcher and historian Sali Hidri, together with the respective basilica.
It belongs to the period of the Emperor Justinian (he made a complex of important buildings for the town of Durres).
The mosaic was built in three determined plans, thus following the principles of the art of antiquity. But on the other hand, due to its composition, it brings something new that is represented by the figure of the shepherds and the hunting scenes.
The tamed animals that surround the shepherds stand for the new allegoric concept of the church and the care of the church towards all the believers.
